UNMC Welcomes New Pediatric Cardiologist Abraham Zabih, DO

Omaha, Nebraska – November 7, 2025 – The University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) and Children’s Nebraska have announced the addition of Abraham Zabih, DO, to their pediatric cardiology team, bolstering specialized care for young patients in the region.

Dr. Zabih joins UNMC as an assistant professor in the Division of Pediatric Cardiology and will serve as a pediatric cardiologist at Children’s Nebraska. He brings expertise gained through extensive training, including a fellowship completed earlier this year at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences / Arkansas Children’s Hospital. Prior to his fellowship, Dr. Zabih completed his pediatric residency at St. Louis University in 2019 and earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Kansas City University in 2016, following a Master of Science from Creighton University in 2010.

Dr. Zabih expressed his enthusiasm for the field, stating he was “drawn to pediatric cardiology because of its complexities and the new challenges it presents on a daily basis.” The arrival of a specialist like Dr. Zabih is particularly important given the increasing prevalence of congenital heart defects, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Outside of his medical practice, Dr. Zabih enjoys running, video games, and building Lego sets. He is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and is now accepting patients; more information about Children’s Nebraska cardiology services can be found on their website.

Officials stated Dr. Zabih’s expertise will immediately contribute to the ongoing efforts to provide comprehensive cardiovascular care to children throughout Nebraska and the surrounding states.
