The Formula E series is set to add a novel layer of strategy to the 2026 CUPRA Raval Madrid E-Prix with the introduction of PIT BOOST, a feature powered by Fortescue Zero, the official PIT BOOST provider for the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship.

Drivers will be required to develop a 30-second pit stop to unlock a 10% energy boost to their battery. This addition complements the existing ATTACK MODE, creating even more strategic options for teams. With PIT BOOST in play, drivers will have access to a six-minute ATTACK MODE, promising more dynamic and unpredictable racing for fans.

Everything you need to know about PIT BOOST in Formula E is available now.

PIT BOOST, debuting in the 2024/25 season, exemplifies the ‘race-to-road’ transfer of technology, showcasing how innovations from elite motorsport are being adapted for wider industrial applications. Teams and drivers will need to carefully balance the benefits of increased power against the potential loss of track position during the pit stop, adding a new dimension of risk and reward to each race.
