Caracas, March 4, 2026 – Vladimir Sosa Sarabia has been appointed the new President of the Villa del Cine Foundation and Amazonia Films, as announced in Official Gazette No. 43.325 on Friday, February 27, 2026.
Sosa, a graphic designer and audiovisual producer, brings more than 20 years of experience in the media industry to the role. The appointment signals a continued focus on Venezuela’s film and television sector.
He currently serves as president of the Fundación Cinemateca Nacional and has also shared his expertise as a professor and filmmaker. His extensive background positions him to lead the Foundation through its next phase.
The same official gazette, resolution N.° 022-2026, also formalized the appointment of Dimas Raúl Nicolás Cazal Acosta as the new director of the Imprenta Nacional y Gaceta Oficial.
Cazal is a journalist and a graduate of the Universidad Central de Venezuela (UCV). Born in Paraguay, he has been a Venezuelan resident since the age of 11. He also currently holds the position of viceminister of Fomento a la Economía cultural.
