$10,000 Investment on Offer for African Entrepreneurs in New Pitch Competition

A new competition, Pitch2Scale Africa, will award $10,000 in funding and business support to a promising African founder during the Mentor Matchup Challenge (MMC) 7.0, taking place December 4–5, 2025, at the Lagos Oriental Hotel.

Developed in collaboration with angel investor Sam Uduma, the competition aims to connect high-potential entrepreneurs with funding, mentorship, and market expansion opportunities. The initiative focuses on sectors including agribusiness, manufacturing, energy, hospitality & tourism, and the creative economy, offering a platform to pitch to investors, accelerators, and policymakers. This comes as investment in African startups continues to rise, signaling growing confidence in the continent’s economic potential.

“The future of trade in Africa will be massive as the world will come to the continent to seek answers to its toughest challenges,” said Ezinne Nwazulu, Managing Partner at 234Finance and convener of MMC 7.0. “African entrepreneurs need to be ready and poised to take advantage of this, and MMC is laying the foundation.” Uduma added, “My commitment to Pitch2Scale Africa is to identify and back bold founders who are ready to create scalable businesses that can thrive within Africa and beyond.” Interested entrepreneurs can find more information and register for MMC 7.0 on the 234Finance website.

MMC 7.0 is expected to draw over 1,000 delegates from across Africa, including Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Cameroon, South Africa, Zambia, and Mozambique, with over 30 industry speakers. Participants will also have access to mentorship clinics, financial advisory sessions, and masterclasses. For broader context on investment trends in Africa, see the African Investor website.

Organizers stated that the competition reflects a core mission to help African founders secure capital and build partnerships to compete globally.
