Apple’s Mac lineup is set for significant updates in 2026, with multiple new products expected to launch throughout the year. According to the latest roadmap details, the Mac mini featuring the M5 or M5 Pro chip is anticipated to debut at WWDC 2026 in June. The Mac Studio is slated for an update later in the year, with the M5 Max and M5 Ultra chip options likely arriving in October 2026. The iMac is also expected to receive the M5 chip during October or November 2026.

Looking ahead to the MacBook Pro series, Apple is preparing a major redesign that could introduce the “MacBook Ultra” branding for higher-end models. Reports indicate this redesign may include an OLED display, touch capabilities, a Dynamic Island interface and M6 Pro or M6 Max chips built using TSMC’s advanced 2nm process. Additional rumored features consist of a thinner chassis and built-in cellular connectivity. The launch timing for these updated MacBook Pro models remains uncertain, with some sources pointing to late 2026 or early 2027, potentially delayed by ongoing global memory chip shortages affecting RAM supply.

Meanwhile, the transition to the M5 chip era for MacBooks appears imminent. Analysts note that the upcoming M5 MacBook Pro series will represent the final iteration of the current design before Apple introduces a new case and OLED displays in 2026 to commemorate the MacBook Pro’s 20th anniversary. The base M5, M5 Pro, and M5 Max chips are expected to power these new models, which could launch toward the end of 2025 or early 2026. The MacBook Air is also expected to receive the M5 chip, with a release possibly occurring in March 2026, following historical patterns for previous Air updates.

In addition to laptop updates, Apple is reportedly developing new Mac displays entering mass production. One is expected to replace the Studio Display launched in 2022, while another could serve as an upgrade to the Pro Display XDR, which debuted in 2019. These display developments are part of Apple’s broader strategy to refresh its desktop and professional hardware offerings.
