President Prabowo Subianto delivered a direct address to 478 regional legislative leaders on Saturday, April 18, 2026, during a national retreat held at the Military Academy in Magelang, Central Java. The president traveled from his private residence in Hambalang, Bogor, West Java, departing by presidential aircraft from Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base in Jakarta around 8:00 a.m. WIB. He arrived at the Adisucipto Airport in Yogyakarta before proceeding to the Military Academy in Magelang, where the retreat was underway. The retreat, organized by the National Resilience Institute (Lemhannas RI), brought together chairpersons of provincial, regency, and municipal legislative councils from across Indonesia for a five-day program running from April 15 to 19. Participants were housed at the academy and wore reserve component uniforms throughout the event. Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya confirmed the president’s agenda, stating that Prabowo’s visit was specifically to provide guidance to the DPRD chairpersons attending the retreat. Regional leaders were engaged in internalizing national consensus frameworks and analyzing global geopolitical dynamics as part of the retreat’s curriculum. Lemhannas RI Governor TB. Ace Hasan Syadzily, who opened the retreat on Thursday, April 16, emphasized that the program aimed to deepen regional leaders’ understanding of national cohesion principles and emerging international challenges. He expressed hope that the sessions would broaden participants’ perspectives in carrying out their duties. The president’s address was scheduled for 10:00 a.m. WIB on Saturday, as announced by Minister of Home Affairs Bima Arya, who confirmed that the guidance would be delivered directly to all attending DPRD chairpersons. Several ministers were also slated to contribute to the retreat’s sessions over the course of the week.
