Syrian actor Qusai Khouli has made explosive claims in a recent podcast interview, alleging he faced threats and had his Syrian citizenship revoked by a powerful newspaper owner.
Khouli, star of the hit series “Five Souls,” spoke candidly with Lebanese media personality Mohammad Qais on the podcast “My Story,” where he detailed the intimidation he endured.
According to Khouli, the newspaper proprietor demanded the withdrawal of his Syrian nationality and barred him from entering the country.
The actor dismissed the individual as “a meaningless journalist,” adding, “It doesn’t concern me, I am Syrian by blood, origin, and birth, and I respect people and my homeland.”
Khouli also denied receiving any special privileges in Syria during his career, insisting he is the one who grants advantages to others.
He became emotional discussing his sense of isolation, tearing up as he spoke about feeling alone.
The actor further revealed he no longer fears death, stating it would reunite him with his late father, whom he deeply misses and who passed away approximately two years ago.
Professionally, Khouli addressed his absence from the second season of the series “2024,” clarifying that continuing the project without him was unsatisfactory from his perspective as an actor.
He maintained that his objections were justified and credible, noting that subsequent results validated his stance before both the production company and the public.
The interview has sparked widespread discussion across social media platforms following its release.
