Xiaomi Indonesia will launch the Redmi Note 15 Series in four models: the Redmi Note 15, Redmi Note 15 5G, Redmi Note 15 Pro 5G, and Redmi Note 15 Pro Plus 5G. This broad range of options reflects Xiaomi’s strategy to cater to diverse user needs.
“The availability of four variants aims to reach a diverse range of users, from casual users to active users who need a smartphone with higher specifications and durability,” said Abee Hakeem, Head of Public Relations at Xiaomi Indonesia.
According to Hakeem, the entire series was developed with Gen Z as the primary target demographic – users who prioritize ruggedness, practicality, and consistent performance in everyday conditions.
Redmi Titan Durability as a Key Differentiator
The core advantage of the Redmi Note 15 Series lies in its Redmi Titan Durability technology. This is presented as a new standard for the Redmi Note line, encompassing comprehensive protection from physical damage to extended battery lifespan. The emphasis on durability signals a growing trend in smartphone design, moving beyond purely aesthetic considerations.
Redmi Titan Durability is built on three key pillars: impact resistance, water resistance, and extended battery life. These aspects were central to the design and engineering of the Redmi Note 15 Series.
Hakeem emphasized that these durability improvements aren’t simply marketing claims, but are the result of rigorous testing prior to product release.
Impact Resistance with SGS 5-Star Certification
Regarding drop resistance, the Redmi Note 15 Series has received SGS Premium Performance Certification 5 Stars. This certification covers tests for drop resistance, pressure resistance, and resistance to device bending.
Xiaomi explained that the testing process involved more than 50 different sets of tests, each repeated tens of thousands, even hundreds of thousands of times, to ensure long-term quality consistency.
The tests covered critical smartphone components, including the USB port, power and volume buttons, and the device’s ability to withstand high temperatures and pressures, ensuring optimal performance even with intensive use over several years.
High Water Resistance up to IP69K
The second pillar of Redmi Titan Durability is water resistance. Xiaomi recognizes that water damage remains a leading cause of smartphone failures.
The Redmi Note 15 Series is certified by TÜV SÜD, confirming that the devices meet international water resistance standards. The Pro Series variants offer enhanced protection with higher water resistance ratings.
The Redmi Note 15 Pro and Pro Plus 5G models feature protection ranging from IP66, IP68, IP69, to IP69K. In real-world use, the Pro Series devices are claimed to withstand submersion in up to two meters of water for a specified duration.
Notably, the Redmi Note 15 Pro Plus 5G’s IP69K certification is a significant addition, as this standard is commonly used in the automotive industry, demanding extreme resistance to high-pressure water jets and high temperatures.
AI Wet Touch 2.0 Remains Responsive in Wet Conditions
Beyond water resistance, the Redmi Note 15 Series incorporates AI Wet Touch 2.0 technology. This allows the screen to remain responsive even when wet or exposed to liquids.
Xiaomi states that the screen remains operable even when exposed to water, oil, foam, or other liquids, designed to enhance usability in real-world scenarios without compromising touch responsiveness.
Long-Term Battery Life Focus
The third pillar of Redmi Titan Durability is extended battery life. Xiaomi believes a durable smartphone requires not only a strong body but also a battery that maintains its health over extended periods.
Internal testing suggests the Redmi Note 15 Series can maintain 80% battery health even after six years of use. This is a key consideration for users seeking long-lasting devices without frequent replacements.
The Redmi Note 15 Pro Plus 5G is estimated to provide up to 49 hours of usage on a single charge, an increase of approximately 13 hours compared to the previous generation.
Price and Announcement Schedule
Regarding official pricing in Indonesia, Xiaomi stated that the Redmi Note 15 Series’ price details will be announced soon, scheduled for release near the end of January 2026.
With its high level of physical durability, official certifications, and significant improvements in battery life, the Redmi Note 15 Series is expected to be a competitive mid-range smartphone when it officially launches in Indonesia.
