Jakarta – Smartphone manufacturer Realme launched its C85 Series in Indonesia on Thursday, aiming too capture a larger share of the competitive entry-level market. The new line, unveiled at a media event, boasts a first-in-class 7,000mAh battery and a new level of durability with IP69K certification-a standard typically found in higher-end devices. Realme also reportedly attempted to break a Guinness World Record at the launch, signaling aspiring goals for the series’ reception.

Realme has launched its latest smartphone series, the C85 Series, at a media event in Jakarta on Thursday, November 20, 2025. The new line builds on the foundation of the Realme C75 and introduces significant upgrades, notably a large-capacity battery previously unseen in the C-series.

Krisva Angnieszca, Public Relations Lead at Realme Indonesia, stated that the launch represents a key step for the company in strengthening its position within the entry-level smartphone market.

“We are setting a new standard for this segment. The Realme C85 is the first phone in Indonesia with IP69K certification, offering resistance to high-pressure water jets and extreme temperatures,” Angnieszca said.

The launch event also included an attempt to break a Guinness World Record, highlighting Realme’s ambition with the new series.

First in Class: 7,000mAh Battery

The Realme C85 boasts a substantial 7,000mAh battery. This capacity is designed to cater to users who heavily rely on their devices for work, entertainment, and outdoor activities. The increasing demand for longer battery life reflects a growing trend toward mobile-first lifestyles.

The company claims the phone’s battery can provide up to 11 hours of active use – including streaming, chatting, and navigation – with only a 5–15 minute charge using 45W fast charging.

Beyond its longevity, the battery has been tested to operate reliably in extreme conditions, ranging from 40°C (104°F) heat to -14°C (7°F) cold, without performance degradation.

Top-Tier Protection: IP69 Pro Certification

Another key feature is the IP69 Pro protection rating, which combines four durability standards: IP69K, IP69, IP68, and IP66. According to Angnieszca, the IP69K certification is central to the series’ appeal.

“This standard is designed for resistance to high-pressure water jets and extreme temperatures up to 100 degrees Celsius,” she explained.

The Android phone is also capable of withstanding submersion in one meter of water for up to 30 minutes. Realme states the device has been tested against 36 different liquids, including water, coffee, tea, cooking oil, milk, and even gasoline.
