Egypt’s National Media Authority has launched a major initiative to restore the prestige and spiritual atmosphere of the Quran Radio station, announcing seven key steps aimed at revitalizing its broadcasts and digital presence.
The plan, introduced by Ahmed El-Moslemany since assuming leadership of the authority, begins with the removal of prominent advertisements from the station’s airwaves to reestablish its sanctity and dignity.
Officials said the schedule of Quranic recitations will be reorganized to prioritize renowned and senior reciters during prime listening hours throughout the day.
As part of the effort, nearly 1,000 previously unbroadcast recitations have been added to the station’s archive, donated by the families of celebrated readers to the National Media Authority.
The authority also confirmed the return of external broadcasts for Quran Radio during dawn prayers, Taraweeh prayers, and various religious and cultural events.
Following the completion of the station’s new website and mobile application, download requests surpassed 92 million in the initial days after receiving official launch approval from President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.
A dedicated museum honoring prominent Quranic reciters is being established within the Maspero media complex, featuring personal artifacts and memorabilia, and will operate under the Quran Radio network.
These developments come as part of a broader vision to revive the station’s historical prominence while integrating modern technology to reach audiences across Egypt and beyond, responding to public demand for content that reflects the station’s esteemed status as the region’s oldest religious broadcaster.
