Reza Pahlavi, the former Crown Prince of Iran, declared in a video message released on Friday that he will continue to fight for Iran and its people, regardless of international support.
In a post on his X account, Pahlavi stated: “Whether Europe stands with us or not, whether your journalists do their job or not, and whether your politicians show the courage to act or not, I will fight for my people and my country.”
The message came after a visit to Berlin, where he met with German officials and shared photos of the meetings earlier in the day.
Pahlavi, the eldest son of the late Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, has lived in exile in the United States for nearly fifty years. His father was overthrown during the 1979 Iranian Revolution, which ended the Pahlavi dynasty’s rule.
The video was released amid heightened diplomatic activity, as Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi arrived in Pakistan late Friday evening ahead of expected talks on Saturday with U.S. Envoys Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff.
Earlier reports had indicated that a Tehran delegation might meet with Pakistani intermediaries instead of American officials, but those plans appear to have shifted.
His renewed public stance underscores the ongoing influence of the former royal family in Iran’s political discourse, particularly among opposition circles seeking alternatives to the current Islamic Republic.
