Residents of Solokuro, Indonesia, now have increased access to specialized medical care thanks to a collaborative effort between Muhammadiyah Lamongan Hospital (RSML) and Muhammadiyah Kalikapas Lamongan Hospital (RSMKL). On Saturday, December 13, 2025, the two hospitals partnered through a national program to offer specialist health screenings at the Muhammadiyah Clinic in Solokuro.

The initiative prioritized pediatric care, obstetrics and gynecology, and cardiology services. The day began with educational sessions focused on tuberculosis awareness, highlighting the importance of preventative health measures.

This integrated healthcare delivery is a direct result of the commitment from RSML and RSMKL to serve as leading referral centers under the Muhammadiyah foundation, bringing subspecialty care closer to the communities they serve. Access to specialized care can be a significant challenge for individuals in rural areas, and this program aims to address that disparity.

Previously, individuals in Solokuro and surrounding areas faced considerable travel distances to reach Lamongan city for these types of examinations.

During the collaborative event, a medical team comprised of specialist doctors and professional paramedics from RSML and RSMKL provided a range of services, including:

  • Pediatric health assessments, encompassing growth and development consultations, immunizations, and routine health screenings for children.
  • Obstetric and gynecological examinations, including prenatal care, ultrasounds, and reproductive health consultations.
  • Cardiological evaluations, offering risk assessments for heart disease, basic electrocardiograms (EKG), and education on heart-healthy lifestyles.

Dr. Nasrul Nasehati, Head of the Muhammadiyah Clinic Solokuro, expressed strong community enthusiasm, stating,

National Program Aims to Improve Health Outcomes

Dr. Susi Budhi Lestari, Operations Manager at RSMKL, explained that the initiative is part of a national program led by Muhammadiyah in the healthcare sector.

“The program aims to ensure equitable access to specialist healthcare. Through collaboration with RSMKL and the Solokuro Clinic, we are ensuring that early detection of health problems, particularly in mothers, children, and cases of heart disease, can be carried out as early as possible at the primary care level,” she explained.

The collaborative effort is scheduled to continue on a regular basis, strengthening the network of Muhammadiyah healthcare services in Lamongan and supporting national health goals. (*)
