Colorectal cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in France, with 47,000 new cases diagnosed annually. However, when detected early, the prognosis is positive for 9 out of 10 patients. In Saint-Brieuc, a coordinated effort involving the regional cancer screening center and the League Against Cancer is underway during “Blue March” to encourage greater participation in screening programs.

In Brittany, screening participation rates reach 38.8%, compared to a national average of 29.6%. While encouraging, this rate is still insufficient, according to Jérôme Robert, director of the Côtes-d’Armor committee of the League Against Cancer. Our goal is to reach 45% participation to reduce overall mortality by 15%.
