While the application period is in November, the subsidy will be applied during the first half of 2026. Here’s a breakdown of the requirements and how much assistance families can receive.

How the Benefit Works and What the Requirements Are

The Electric Subsidy doesn’t provide direct cash payments. Instead, it helps beneficiaries pay their monthly electricity bills through a discount.

The benefit establishes a semiannual amount based on the number of household members. Households with one member can receive up to $30.270; those with two or three members are eligible for $39.348; and households with four or more members can receive $54.486.

These amounts will be divided into six installments, with the first arriving in February 2026 (covering January), followed by monthly payments through June.

To qualify for the electric subsidy, you must meet the following conditions:

-Be among the 40% most vulnerable in the Household Social Registry (as of mid-November 2025).
-Be current on your electricity bill payments as of December 22, 2025.
-Be a residential customer (regulated), whether a tenant or homeowner.
-If your household includes a member registered on the Registry of Electrically Dependent Persons, your application for the electric subsidy will be automatic and prioritized. If you are not registered, you must complete the process with your electricity company with the following documentation:
Full name and identification document of the electrically dependent person, and of their legal representative or attorney-in-fact, if applicable.
Contact information.
Address where the electrically dependent person resides.
A copy of the electricity bill issued by the electricity or cooperative company, associated with the address where the electrically dependent person resides.
A certificate signed by the treating physician.

How to Apply for the Electric Subsidy

1. Visit the Single Social Window.
2. In the featured benefits section, select Electric Subsidy.
3. Log in with your RUT and Unique Key.
4. Verify that you meet the application requirements.
5. Apply. You will need to enter the following information:

— Region.
— Municipality.
— Electricity company providing service.
— Customer number as it appears on your electricity bill. You can find this information in the upper corner of your bill.
— Contact email address.
— Phone number.
— If your household belongs to a housing association that shares a customer number, select “Yes”.
— Declare that the data entered corresponds to the property where you live with the members of your household.
— Acknowledge that the data in your application is accurate and your responsibility.
