Tate McRae Receives First Grammy Nomination for “Just Keep Watching”
Singer Tate McRae has received her first Grammy nomination, recognized for best dance/pop recording for her song “Just Keep Watching” from the F1 movie soundtrack.
The nomination was announced today, November 7, 2025, and McRae shared her excitement on Instagram, writing, “Grammy nominated!!!!!! Thank u!!!!!!!!!!!!!! @recordingacademy.” She is nominated alongside Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco for “Bluest Flame,” Lady Gaga for “Abracadabra,” Zara Larsson for “Midnight Sun,” and PinkPantheress for “Illegal.”
The nod comes as a surprise given that McRae’s most recent studio album, So Close to What, released on February 21, did not receive any other Grammy nominations despite reaching No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart. McRae is ineligible for the Best New Artist category, having already been submitted three times, the maximum allowed.
McRae is currently concluding the 81-show world tour supporting So Close to What, which began on March 18 in Mexico City and is scheduled to end Saturday, November 8, in Inglewood, California, with the addition of her recent track “Tit for Tat” to the setlist. A Grammy win could significantly elevate McRae’s profile within the music industry.
The Recording Academy has not yet commented on the specific criteria used for this year’s nominations.
