Original Story (November 27, 7:53 PM)

Creative Assembly is entering a busy period through late 2025, focusing on addressing player feedback and improving Total War: Warhammer 3 following recent updates and various other initiatives. Ahead of the Tides of Torment expansion launch and a planned presentation detailing the series’ future, the developer is rolling out significant changes to the game. Modding has long been a key component of the Total War experience, allowing players to customize and extend gameplay.

Starting today, players can test an early version of a new mod manager for Warhammer 3. The development team has been working on this system for some time, and its official release is scheduled for December 4th. The launcher will be refined based on player feedback during the testing phase.

“Our goal is to make playing Warhammer 3 with mods easier and more streamlined, so players spend less time managing mods and more time playing the game,” the Creative Assembly team wrote.

The new mod manager is currently accessible exclusively through Steam. Upon launching the application, users can select either the new or the old launcher version, or launch the game directly. It’s important to note that submitting projects to the Steam Workshop can only be done through the original mod manager.

The released system offers a range of new features, including:

  1. Support for saving and sharing mod profiles;
  2. The ability to select a game save to “continue the campaign” with;
  3. Automatic activation of mods used in a specific game save.

The existing mod manager will remain available until the full version of the new system launches. Developers plan to implement the new system across other titles in the Total War series in the future. Details regarding this expansion, as well as the major 7.0 update for Warhammer 3, will be shared on December 2nd.
