University at Albany Announces 2025-26 Track and Field Schedule

The University at Albany unveiled its indoor and outdoor track and field schedule for the 2025-26 season today, featuring a competitive slate of meets across ten states culminating in potential NCAA Championship appearances.

The indoor season will primarily take place at The Armory in New York City and Boston University, with a new addition to the schedule – a meet at Cornell University in late January. Last year, UAlbany weight thrower Qualiar Newton placed second among collegiate competitors at the Millrose Games, signaling the program’s rising profile. The indoor season will build towards the America East Championships on February 20-21, where both the men’s and women’s teams will aim to defend their titles; the men seeking their 20th overall indoor championship and the women their 15th. America East competition is consistently strong.

The outdoor season expands the Great Danes’ reach, including a home meet – the Bobbi Palma UAlbany Spring Classic on April 17 – and trips to Florida, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania. At last season’s Penn Relays Carnival, both the men’s and women’s 4x100m relay teams qualified for the Championship of America Finals, a historic achievement for the program. This level of performance demonstrates UAlbany’s growing competitiveness on a national stage.

The season will conclude with the NCAA I Outdoor Championships in Eugene, Oregon, from June 10-13, following regional qualifying meets. Last year, Louis Gordon became UAlbany’s first-ever regional champion, and Beatriz Mora Herencia qualified for nationals as a freshman. Officials stated that they anticipate continued success and aim to send even more athletes to the national championships this year.
