A viral video depicting a tense encounter between French President Emmanuel Macron and First Lady Brigitte Macron has returned to the spotlight following the release of a new book that challenges the official narrative provided by the Elysée Palace.
The incident, which first gained global attention on May 25, 2025, took place as the presidential couple arrived in Hanoi, Vietnam, to begin an Asian tour. Footage captured at the moment the presidential Airbus door opened showed Brigitte Macron appearing to slap the head of state, sparking immediate international speculation.
