‘Vandaag Inside’ Panel Criticizes Beau’s Interview with Wilfred Genee’s Wife
During the latest broadcast of Vandaag Inside, Derksen voiced his disapproval of van Erven Dorens’ interviewing style. “Beau always slouches and thinks, ‘If these people are talking, I won’t interfere, because I don’t care.’ And every time your wife said something, he’d jump in with ‘bep-bep-bep.’”
According to Derksen, the host barely let Genee’s wife finish a sentence. “She couldn’t complete a thought, she couldn’t explain what the book is about, or even where to buy it – Lili.nl – and Beau just ruined her entire evening.” René van der Gijp questioned why that was the case. “Well, because he hates Wilfred, of course!” Derksen responded.
Derksen Slams Beau
Genee playfully chimed in, “That’s a possibility, indeed, haha! Do you think that played a role or not? We’re good, Beau and I?” Derksen argued that van Erven Dorens should have kept any personal feelings separate. “Everyone is allowed to dislike us, and frankly, they have a right to, because we’ve brought it on ourselves, but when your wife is sitting there, you have to be professional. She has nothing to do with it. It’s unfitting.”
Genee also expressed his disappointment with Beau. “I interrupt sometimes too, so I don’t have much ground to stand on, but I did notice it last night. But he could have just gone after me instead. It would have been better to challenge me directly.” Guest Goedele Liekens asked Genee if his wife was bothered by the interview. “Well, she did find it difficult to get her story across. That was my impression, at least.” Derksen agreed, stating, “She simply wasn’t given the space to tell it.”
