Petróleos de Venezuela S.A. (PDVSA) has begun a pilot program to distribute 97-octane gasoline, marketed as Súper Premium, as part of a strategic move to modernize the country’s hydrocarbon market.
The initiative aims to diversify fuel offerings in the capital city and reintroduce a high-performance product to the national market, catering to the needs of a constantly evolving vehicle fleet. This development comes as Venezuela seeks to revitalize its energy sector and address changing consumer demands.
On Tuesday, February 17, a Globovisión news team confirmed that several service stations in Caracas were already dispensing the Premium (97-octane) gasoline as part of the PDVSA pilot program.
La gasolina Súper Premium ha sido diseñada específicamente para satisfacer los requerimientos de vehículos con motores de alta compresión y una elevada exigencia técnica.
This initial rollout will allow the national oil industry to evaluate consumption patterns and technical responses from users before potentially expanding the service to other regions of the country. According to reports from journalist Nelin Escalante, the Súper Premium fuel is priced at approximately $1 per liter.
