Wichita State Tennis to Compete in American Conference Championship Finals
TULSA, Okla. — Wichita State’s Xin Tong Wang and Giorgia Roselli advanced to the singles and doubles championships at the 2025 American Conference Individual Championships following semifinal victories today at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.
The Shockers dominated in doubles, defeating Tulane’s Natalia Perez and Natalia Fantini 6-2, 6-0 to secure their place in Sunday’s final. Roselli also excelled in singles, defeating South Florida’s Francesca Miglio 6-2, 6-0. Wang’s singles run ended against Charlotte’s Ni Xi, 6-2, 6-3.
Sunday’s finals will feature a showdown between Wichita State and Charlotte in both disciplines. The top-seeded and 31st-ranked Shockers will face Charlotte’s Xi and Sara Suchankova at 9:00 AM in doubles, while Roselli will compete against Xi in the singles final immediately following. Both matches will be streamed live on ESPN+. Winning these championships earns automatic qualification for the prestigious ITA Conference Masters Championship in November.
Doubles matches will be played as two tiebreak sets, with a super tiebreaker set to decide the outcome if necessary, while singles will consist of three traditional tiebreak sets. Officials stated that the champions will represent the American Conference at the national tournament.
