Utah Women’s Basketball Announces Exhibition Game Against Western Colorado

The University of Utah women’s basketball team will kick off its 2025-26 season with an exhibition game against Western Colorado on Monday, October 27th at 7 p.m. in Salt Lake City’s Jon M. Huntsman Center.

The Utes will be looking to build on a strong finish to the 2024-25 season and are returning key players including Maty Wilke, Samantha Crispe, Brooke Walker, and Reese Ross. Utah also welcomes back Lani White, a former Ute who spent last season at Virginia Tech, along with several new additions to the roster. Wilke, a standout performer, nearly achieved the prestigious 50/40/90 shooting club last season, averaging 9.2 points per game.

Western Colorado enters the matchup with a 21-8 record from the previous season and returns its leading scorer, Ivey Schmidt, who averaged 13.6 points per game. Head Coach Adam Jacobson is entering his fourth season with the Mountaineers. This exhibition provides a valuable opportunity for both teams to assess their lineups before the start of their respective regular seasons. You can find more information about Utah Women’s Basketball tickets on the official Utah Utes website.

Utah will officially begin its season on November 3rd against Sioux Falls, followed by a road game against in-state rival Utah State on November 7th. Head Coach Gavin Petersen, who led the Utes to a win over No. 3 Notre Dame last season, stated the team is focused on continued growth and success as they transition into the Big 12 conference.
