WWE and Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment Announce Expanded Partnership
World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) and Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment (MLSE), owners of the Toronto Maple Leafs and Toronto Raptors, announced a comprehensive partnership today that will bring WWE programming and cross-promotional opportunities to Toronto.
The agreement will see WWE return to Toronto’s Scotiabank Arena for an episode of Monday Night Raw on January 26, 2026. Tickets for the event go on sale this Friday. In addition to the Raw broadcast, WWE Superstars are scheduled to appear at Toronto Maple Leafs games on January 25 and 27, and Toronto sports personalities are expected to participate in the Raw event. This partnership signifies a growing trend of collaboration between professional wrestling and traditional sports organizations, aiming to broaden audience reach.
Beyond the live events, the partnership includes “exclusive merchandise collaborations, original content development, community-focused programs, and regular cross-brand appearances from team players and WWE Superstars.” This builds on a history of WWE events in Toronto, including Money in the Bank in 2024 and the upcoming Elimination Chamber in 2025. “Collaborating with an iconic organization like MLSE is a natural extension of WWE’s deep and growing connection with Toronto,” said Alex Varga, Co-Head of Revenue at WWE.
Phil King, Chief Business Officer at MLSE, stated, “MLSE and WWE have a long and strong history together…and we are thrilled to expand our partnership with WWE, a global leader in sports and entertainment, to create world-class content and build on Toronto’s standing as a leading market globally.” Rogers Communications, which recently acquired a controlling stake in MLSE, may further amplify these collaborative efforts. Officials stated that further details regarding specific content and community programs will be released in the coming months.
