Filip Tomsa is no longer pursuing acting. The Czech actor, best known for his roles in Kvaska and the series Policie Modrava, has shifted careers and now works as a professional firefighter.
According to a recent interview with Radiožurnál on February 27, 2026, Tomsa confirmed he has not been actively involved in acting for about five years. “People still see me as an actor, but the truth is, I haven’t really dedicated myself to this profession in a meaningful way for roughly five years,” he said.
He explained that his decision to step away came after growing dissatisfied with current television production and the conditions on set. “The operate stopped fulfilling me, and I don’t like the way television is made these days or the filming environment,” Tomsa added.
Despite his departure from acting, he has made occasional exceptions for projects he felt personally connected to, such as his recent appearance in the police diving series on Prima+, which he agreed to film because he had previously promised to do so.
Outside of his firefighting duties, Tomsa devotes his time to his passion for flying. He described aviation as a source of peace and freedom, saying it helps him feel grounded and mentally clear. “When I’m flying, I feel free. It’s something that calms me,” he shared during the interview.
He also revealed that he invites listeners to tune in to ČT Sport at 9 p.m. To watch the awards ceremony for aerial sports athletes of 2025, an event he believes highlights the beauty and camaraderie of aviation sports.
Even though he rarely gives interviews and prefers to stay out of the spotlight, Tomsa made an exception for this conversation, noting that few media outlets have heard from him in recent years. “You’re an exception because I agreed to approach on air thanks to my love of flying,” he told the host with a smile.
