The 2025 World Intelligent Manufacturing Conference, themed “Digital Intelligence Drives, New Quality Leads,” concluded November 27th in Nanjing, China. The event drew high-level government officials and industry leaders as China continues to prioritize advanced manufacturing and technological innovation.
Jiangsu Province Party Secretary Xin Changxing welcomed attendees, emphasizing the importance of intelligent manufacturing to the region’s future. “Our province started with manufacturing, and will also rely on manufacturing for its future,” he stated. He added that Jiangsu will focus on bolstering technological innovation, accelerating the digitization of industry, and fostering a favorable ecosystem for businesses. Xin encouraged experts and investors to contribute to the development of intelligent manufacturing in Jiangsu, promising an open and supportive environment.
Xin Guobin, Vice Minister of Industry and Information Technology, highlighted China’s progress in intelligent manufacturing, noting a shift from isolated breakthroughs to broader implementation and from single-machine intelligence to system-wide collaboration. He stated, “Jiangsu’s development in intelligent manufacturing is at the forefront of the nation, and its innovative practices are a vivid example of China’s intelligent manufacturing journey from concept to reality.” The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will continue to prioritize intelligent manufacturing as a key pillar of China’s manufacturing power, focusing on systematic breakthroughs, tiered development, and standard consensus.
Yang Huayong, Chairman of the International Intelligent Manufacturing Alliance and an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, noted that the global manufacturing landscape has evolved significantly over the past decade, moving from automation to digitization and intelligent systems. He added that recent advancements in artificial general intelligence are providing new momentum for intelligent manufacturing. The International Intelligent Manufacturing Alliance will actively promote international cooperation in technology, standards, talent, and industrial applications, sharing the benefits of intelligent manufacturing globally.
During the conference, a new National Intelligent Manufacturing Expert Committee was established. The inaugural “Leading-Edge Smart Factory” joint initiative and the 2025 World and China Intelligent Manufacturing Top 10 Technological Advances were also released. Keynote speeches were delivered by Zhou Ji, Chairman of China General Technology (Group) Holding Co., Ltd. Yu Xubo, Zhang Wenwu, General Manager of CITIC Group, and Bosch Global Executive Vice President Luo Wuwei.

Prior to the conference, attendees toured an intelligent manufacturing exhibition.
The event was attended by provincial and Nanjing city leaders including Zhou Hongbo, Ma Xin, Li Zhongjun, Lü Deming, and Wang Liping, as well as representatives from various institutions, universities, associations, and companies. China Association for Science and Technology Vice President Xiang Qiao and National Intellectual Property Administration Deputy Director Hu Wenhui were also in attendance.
