Two young farmers from the Loiret region are preparing to take on one of Europe’s most demanding student adventures: the 4L Trophy 2027. Julie Fauduet and Louis Meunier, members of Jeunes agriculteurs de Beaune-la-Rolande, are gearing up for the grueling off-road rally that stretches from France to Morocco.

Set for February 2027, the event will see the duo pilot a vintage Renault 4L across nearly 6,000 kilometers of challenging terrain. Their route will wind through France and Spain before cutting into the Moroccan desert, relying solely on a roadbook for navigation.

The competition emphasizes precision and resilience over speed, testing participants’ ability to handle mechanical breakdowns, extreme weather, and navigational challenges. For Fauduet and Meunier, the journey represents both a sporting challenge and a humanitarian mission.

Racing under the banner “Les Paysans du désert,” the pair aim to raise awareness about agriculture while supporting educational initiatives in Morocco. Their project, estimated to cost 15,000 euros, has already sparked local fundraising efforts, including a planned dance night in Auxy on May 30, 2026.

Beyond the rally itself, the duo hopes to apply their preparation year to strengthen ties between rural communities and the wider public. Through local events centered around their 4L, they intend to highlight the role of young farmers in solidarity efforts both at home and abroad.
