The North Face Transgrancanaria 2026 showcased its elite athletes on Thursday, all vying for the top spot in the prestigious global event. The runners were presented at the Trail Zone, located within ExpoMeloneras by Lopesan, where they addressed the media and fans before preparing for the Classic, Advanced, and Marathon races.

Stars like Jon Albon, Olivia Amber, Pau Capell, Henriette Albon, Johnny Luna Lima, Claudia Tremps, Tom Evans, Katarzyna Dombrowska, Abel Carretero, Yasmina Castro, Hannes Namberger, Gemma Arenas, Antonio Martínez, Maria Fuentes, Alain Santamaria, Ikram Rharsalla and Marcos Ramos shared their thoughts ahead of the starting line. San Bartolomé de Tirajana Sports Councilor Ramón Suárez Ojeda was similarly in attendance, highlighting the municipality’s support for the world-class competition.

Many of these competitors are expected to contend for podium finishes in the three long-distance races, which initiate Friday following the completion of the KV El Gigante on Wednesday and the Half and Promo races on Thursday.

The presentation of these elite athletes capped off another spectacular day of trail running on Gran Canaria. Earlier in the day, the island’s summit served as the dramatic backdrop for the 12 and 23-kilometer races, and the Trail Zone hosted the “Voces de World Trail Major” event, featuring Arista Eventos CEO Fernando González and MUIT Madeira Director Joao Faria.

The North Face Transgrancanaria is organized by Arista Eventos and sponsored by the Gran Canaria Cabildo through Gran Canaria Tourism and the Insular Institute of Sports; the Las Palmas de Gran Canaria City Council through the Municipal Institute of Sports; the Teror City Council and the Tejeda City Council. Additional support comes from The North Face, Hospitales Universitarios San Roque, Lopesan Hotel Group, ExpoMeloneras, 226ERS, Fred. Olsen Express, Sonocom Audiovisuales and Aguas de Teror.
