President Prabowo Subianto is prioritizing efforts to secure jobs for Indonesians as he undertakes a series of international trips. The president emphasized the importance of these visits in maintaining and expanding employment opportunities for the nation’s workforce.

“I travel to take care of my people. To protect what? Jobs,” Prabowo recently stated, according to a post on the State Secretariat Ministry’s Instagram account (@kemensetneg.ri) on Thursday, March 26.

While ministers are actively fulfilling their duties, Prabowo explained that his direct involvement is often crucial for strategic negotiations and reaching key agreements with international partners.

“If I don’t lobby, of course the ministers will work, but I have to arrive in. There are things that need to be finalized directly,” he said.

Prabowo also stressed the need to establish a strong negotiating position in all international relations to safeguard Indonesia’s national interests amid the current global dynamic.

“In every relationship, there must be leverage, it must come from a position of strength. That’s what we’re working on now,” Prabowo stated.

The president is scheduled to embark on another series of overseas visits in the coming weeks.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is currently finalizing arrangements for Prabowo’s trip to Japan from March 29-31 and South Korea from March 31-April 2.

According to the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs website, the president is scheduled to attend a state luncheon hosted by the Emperor of Japan.

He is also expected to meet with Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi.

The Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that President Prabowo’s visit will provide a significant opportunity for both countries to strengthen their comprehensive and strategic partnership.
