TV 2’s hit renovation competition Sommerhytta returns for its milestone 10th season on May 4, 2026, marking a historic shift as the show moves for the first time to Sørlandet, specifically Sørlandheia near Tvedestrand.
This season features four novel contestant pairs tasked with transforming basic cabins into their dream homes over ten weeks through extensive interior and exterior renovation challenges. Each week, teams compete for a golden hammer, with the pair accumulating the most awards winning their very own Sørland cabin in the finale.
Among the standout duos is Sondre Kile Lorentzen, 22, and his mother Katrine Kile, 51—the first mother-son pair to ever compete on Sommerhytta. Speaking about their motivation, Katrine emphasized their desire to learn more about renovation and hands-on work, while Sondre shared hopes that the experience will support him with future projects on his own home, where he still lives with his mother.
The pair described their journey as a shared adventure built on teamwork, drive, and positive energy, noting their preference for a classic modern aesthetic featuring natural tones like green and beige, along with oak, dark woodwork, tiles, and stone. Katrine, who enjoys gardening, expressed excitement about putting her outdoor skills to use during the competition.
Set against the backdrop of larger cabins and the biggest plots in the show’s history—one acre per lot—this season promises elevated stakes and creative opportunities as contestants push their design and craftsmanship limits in pursuit of victory.
