NASCAR Driver Daniel Suarez’s Family Involved in Multi-Vehicle Crash
The family of NASCAR driver Daniel Suarez was involved in a serious traffic collision yesterday, resulting in injuries to his wife, mother, and mother-in-law.
Suarez shared details of the incident on Instagram, posting images of his wife Julia Piquet’s severely damaged Chevy Blazer. According to the driver, Piquet, along with Suarez’s mother and Piquet’s mother, were traveling in the SUV when it was struck from behind while waiting to make a left turn. The impact pushed the vehicle into oncoming traffic, where it collided with two other cars. “What is left of Julia’s Chevy Blazer. This car saved the lives of my wife, mother and mother in law,” Suarez wrote. “Yesterday was a very scary day. Today, I’m just so grateful that they are alive.”
All three women were transported to a local hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening. No other individuals involved in the crash sustained injuries. Suarez and Piquet were married in July of 2024, and the incident highlights the vulnerability even of those closest to high-profile athletes. The driver, currently competing in the NASCAR Cup Series, recently finished seventh at the Charlotte Motor Speedway Road Course.
