Affordable Housing Lottery Opens for El Hogar in The Bronx
A housing lottery is now open for 129 affordable housing units at El Hogar, a new development located at 2444 Tiebout Avenue in the Fordham section of The Bronx.
The building offers studios, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom apartments for individuals and families with incomes ranging from 60% to 130% of the Area Median Income (AMI). Applications are being accepted online through January 8, 2025. Interested applicants can learn more about income requirements and the application process on the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development website.
El Hogar is a 14-story building featuring a range of amenities, including a community room, fitness center, and outdoor recreational space. The development aims to address the ongoing need for affordable housing options in the borough, where housing costs continue to rise. The project is part of a larger city-wide effort to increase access to quality, affordable homes for New Yorkers.
“We are committed to providing New Yorkers with access to safe, affordable housing,” stated a representative from the development team today. Details regarding the selection process and anticipated move-in dates will be communicated directly to applicants following the lottery close. Officials stated that applicants will be notified of their status in the coming months.
