Despite recent setbacks with Markíza and STVR, the career of Slovakia’s prominent television personality remains resilient.
Tensions at Markíza
Adela Vinczeová has been a fixture in Slovak media for over two decades, consistently engaging audiences through radio, television, and theatrical performances. Her enduring popularity made the recent developments with Markíza television particularly noteworthy.
This article will cover:
- the origins and nature of the conflict at Markíza,
- the circumstances surrounding Vinczeová’s departure from the network,
- the shift in dynamics at STVR,
- Vinczeová’s current projects,
- her latest professional opportunity.
The situation began with comments made by Michal Kovačič during a live broadcast of the “Na telo” program, alleging pressure from the television network. Several prominent figures, including Viktor Vincze, subsequently voiced their support for Kovačič, with Vincze assuming the role of chairman of the strike committee. He was later removed from his hosting position on “Let’s Dance.” Vinczeová publicly supported her husband, stating, “It is true that I will not participate in Let’s Dance, because emotionally reconcile myself with the circumstances under which Viktor was removed from the host position. It’s not about who hosts, everyone has the right to change people and the lineup, but this step is related to Viktor’s activities in the newsroom in recent months,” as reported by Diva.sk. This decision, although, was not without repercussions.
Vinczeová also acknowledged receiving counsel regarding the potential consequences of her decision. “I was also influenced by the other side, which understandably laid out all the risks and benefits of my decisions,” she stated in a podcast interview, clarifying that the primary risk was potentially ending her career.
Departure from STVR
Approximately six months later, the broadcast of “Trochu inak s Adelou” on STVR’s secondary channel was also discontinued. The decision to halt the program did not originate with management, but with Vinczeová and producer Daniel Rabin. The catalyst was the decision not to air an episode featuring Viktor Vincze, citing concerns that his ongoing dispute with Markíza television made him a sensitive subject for news coverage.
According to Vinczeová, the discussion surrounding the dispute was not the primary issue, but rather a matter of privacy regarding their personal lives.
