Amazfit Bip 6 Smartwatch Receives Major Update with New Running Metrics
Amazfit is rolling out software update version 3.3.12.4 for the Bip 6 smartwatch today, bringing features previously available on the Active 2 (Round) to the popular wearable.
The 24.64 MB update, reported by users on Reddit, introduces vertical oscillation and ground contact time metrics designed to help runners analyze and improve their form. It also includes a new ultra-marathon sports mode for dedicated long-distance athletes. This update aims to enhance the Bip 6’s fitness tracking capabilities, making it a more competitive option in the budget-friendly smartwatch market.
Beyond running, the update adds a raise-to-unlock gesture during workouts and ensures button presses are registered even when the screen is inactive. Users will also see new heart rate icons differentiating between wrist-based readings and data from connected Bluetooth heart rate monitors, and a new jump rope reminder feature. Amazfit is rolling out a new update for the Bip 6 smartwatch, version number 3.3.12.4. This wearable was last updated in July 2025, when it received Zepp OS 5.0 with features like adjustable font size, the Jet Lag Manager app and the Zepp Flow 2.0 assistant.
Software version 3.3.12.4 has been reported by several users of the Amazfit Bip 6 smartwatch on Reddit. Through this update, the watch gains many of the features which were recently pushed to the Active 2 (Round) (curr. $99.99 at Amazon). These include two new metrics, vertical oscillation and ground contact time, designed to help you improve your running form. Also linked to running is a new ultra-marathon sports mode.
The release brings support for a raise-to-unlock gesture during a workout, and direct button pushes will get a response, whether or not the screen was active at the time. On top of this, there are new heart rate icons to help users distinguish between wrist-based measurements and data collected by an external heart rate monitor connected over Bluetooth. Plus, the wearable is getting a new jump rope reminders feature.
