Ariana Grande, Jessica Lange & More Star in Highly Anticipated ‘American Horror Story’ Season 13

A star-studded cast, including Ariana Grande and returning franchise favorites like Jessica Lange, will headline the thirteenth season of FX’s anthology horror series, American Horror Story.

The news was announced today by Ryan Murphy Productions via a video posted to their Instagram page, revealing the names of the ensemble cast in the show’s signature font accompanied by Vera Lynn’s “I’ll Be Seeing You.” In addition to Grande and Lange, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates, Emma Roberts, Billie Lourd, Gabourey Sidibe, and Leslie Grossman are all set to appear. This marks Lange’s first return to the series since 2018’s “Apocalypse,” and Bassett, Bates, and Sidibe’s return after similar absences. Peters and Paulson last appeared in the 2021 season, “Double Feature.”

Grande previously collaborated with series creators Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk on the short-lived horror comedy “Scream Queens” in 2015, and will reunite with Roberts and Lourd, who also starred in that series. The extensive cast reunion has sparked fan speculation that Season 13 may revisit storylines from previous seasons, particularly 2013’s “Coven,” which, like “Apocalypse,” featured a crossover of past characters. You can learn more about the history of the American Horror Story franchise on FX’s official website.

Season 12, titled “Delicate,” concluded in April 2024. The highly anticipated Season 13 is expected to begin production shortly, with a premiere date yet to be announced; the show’s consistent popularity makes it a key offering for FX and streaming partner Hulu. Production will be handled by 20th Television.

Officials have not yet commented on the specific storyline for the upcoming season, but further details are expected in the coming months.
