Egyptian singer Amir Eid has sparked controversy following an incident at the funeral of his ex-wife’s father, with reports alleging inappropriate behavior towards journalists covering the event.
According to Al-Qahira 24, the Musicians Syndicate is reviewing video footage of the incident. The reports suggest Eid made an “improper gesture” towards members of the press.
The incident has drawn criticism from several media personalities. Ahl Masr reported that media personality Nahal Tayel criticized Eid’s behavior, describing it as “inappropriate” at the funeral of the mother of artist Laila Farouk.
Masrawy detailed that Eid’s marriage to Laila Farouk was described by the singer as a “simple celebration on the roof.”
Al-Youm Al-Sabea reported that the funeral for the father of artist Laila Farouk was held in Maadi.
The incident comes as the entertainment industry continues to grapple with issues of media conduct and celebrity privacy, highlighting the often-complex relationship between public figures and the press.
