Missouri State Golfer Kiser Pannier Contends at Lady Red Wolves Classic

Kiser Pannier of Missouri State University is one stroke off the lead after 36 holes of play at the Lady Red Wolves Classic, held yesterday at Sage Meadows Golf Club in Jonesboro, Arkansas.

Pannier, a senior from Sedalia, Missouri, finished the day at five-under-par (139) with rounds of 70 and 69, fueled by an impressive 11 birdies. The Bears women’s golf team currently sits in sixth place in the 17-team field with a total score of 581. The University of Louisiana Monroe (ULM) leads the team standings with 559, followed by Little Rock (571) and Memphis (574).

Missouri State’s Coyee Zhang is tied for 33rd at 147, while Chloe Bolte is tied for 34th with a score of 148. Tierney Baumstark and Kyleigh Pfitzner are tied for 53rd and 61st respectively. Several Bears are competing as individuals, including Siena Minor, who shot a 70 in her second round. Strong performances in collegiate golf can significantly impact a player’s national rankings and potential for post-season play, like the NCAA Women’s Golf Championship.

The final round of the Lady Red Wolves Classic is scheduled for an 8 a.m. shotgun start today, where Pannier will attempt to close the gap and contend for the individual title. Tournament officials anticipate a competitive final round as teams vie for position before the end of the season.
