During the event, the designer delivered a speech, expressing her joy at receiving the honor.
“I would like to start by thanking the French Ministry of Culture and the Minister of Culture, Madame Rachida Dati. For this honor and for the kind words – I am immensely grateful.I am proud to be British, but France is one of the few places where fashion is treated with the seriousness it deserves as a form of art” she said.
She also thanked her team for their support.
“This is not the achievement of one person. From the design and atelier, through the production and communication teams, to many minds and hands working together – this is a collective effort, and this award is not just mine. I would like to thank my incredible team for their dedication, creativity and trust” she told her colleagues.
She didn’t forget to mention her family. The former Spice Girl expressed her gratitude to her husband for “seeing her passion” and acknowledged her children.
“Thank you to my parents and my children, who always believe in my vision” she said.
She added on Instagram that David and her children are “everything” to her.

The former soccer star also shared his thoughts via social media.
“We are so proud of you and everything you have achieved, @victoriabeckham. Receiving the Order of Arts and Letters from the French Ministry of Culture… No one deserves it more than you. We love you” he wrote alongside photos from the special day.

“We’re so proud of you, Mum” the 23-year-old wrote to his mother.

Challenges for the Victoria Beckham Brand
It’s worth noting that Victoria’s fashion business has faced financial difficulties in the past.
“The losses were so, so big. David invested a lot… It was like a snowball rolling down a hill. (…) We were in the minus millions of pounds. I didn’t know what to do, and I wanted so badly to save the business that meant so much to me. I felt embarrassed. I was in a dark place, I felt like I was in quicksand” the 51-year-old recalled in a Netflix documentary.
“I panicked. I was terrified because I didn’t see anything coming from it. We always agreed that we would support each other no matter what, but that worried me” David described the situation.
