The accident occurred when a BMW and a Renault collided, requiring a significant emergency response. Firefighters from Jodoigne and the NAGE zone, specifically the Gembloux station, used specialized equipment to extricate those trapped in the vehicles. Ambulances from Éghezée, Gembloux, and Namur, along with the Namur PIT team and SMUR units from Tirlemont and Namur, were dispatched to the scene.
While the occupants of the BMW were unharmed, all four people inside the Renault were seriously injured and required immediate medical attention. Robaux was rushed to the CHR hospital in Namur, but tragically died en route. The three other victims were transported to CHR Namur, the Saint-Luc clinic in Bouge, and a hospital in Louvain, all with critical injuries.
