West Hollywood Authorities Investigate Two Armed Robberies Targeting Luxury Watches
Authorities in West Hollywood are investigating two separate armed robberies that occurred yesterday, October 30, 2024, resulting in the theft of luxury watches and jewelry.
The first incident was reported around 2:00 p.m. in the 8100 block of Santa Monica Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. A group of suspects exited a vehicle and forcibly took a watch and jewelry from the victim. Approximately an hour and thirty-four minutes later, at around 3:34 p.m., a second robbery took place near Melrose and Westmount Drive, where four suspects demanded a gold Rolex watch before fleeing in a grey sedan.
Fortunately, neither victim sustained injuries during either robbery. These incidents follow a similar robbery earlier this month where a visitor from San Francisco was targeted by armed men. The rise in these types of robberies highlights a growing concern regarding the targeting of individuals for high-value items in the area; you can find safety tips from the FBI.
As of today, no arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing to determine if the two robberies are connected. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the LA County Sheriff’s Department or submit an anonymous tip through LA Crime Stoppers.
The investigation remains open, and authorities are continuing to gather evidence and pursue leads.
