The Burgenland state government concluded its legislative year on Thursday, approving 212 resolutions that set the course for future policy initiatives. The decisions included guidelines for subsidized housing loan sales to private citizens.

The unanimous approval of over 1,500 resolutions since the current legislative period began on February 7, 2025, demonstrates a highly collaborative approach to governance in the Burgenland region of Austria. Governor Hans Peter Doskozil highlighted the positive working relationship within the government, stating, “The government cooperation is characterized by appreciation and respect; all issues are discussed openly and objectively. We in Burgenland can successfully demonstrate that this form of coalition stands for progress in the health and social sectors, takes climate change and the energy transition seriously, but is also a reliable partner to the population in security and economic matters!”

Recent months have seen significant groundwork laid for expanding healthcare services in Burgenland. This includes launching a design advisory council for the planned Gols clinic, establishing a cardiac surgery department at the Oberwart clinic, and expanding the master plan for the Barmherzige Brüder hospital in Eisenstadt. The awarding of nursing support centers to implementing organizations marks a milestone in the rollout of a new nursing model. Work has also begun on developing Burgenland’s climate strategy.

Landeshauptmann-Stellvertreterin Anja Haider-Wallner emphasized the constructive nature of the collaboration, saying, “The unanimous resolutions are an expression of constructive and reliable cooperation within the state government. We work together on many key issues with a common content line, but also bring in our respective priorities and professional perspectives. The fact that decisions are made after thorough discussion strengthens their quality and ultimately benefits Burgenland.”

The Burgenland state government’s first session of the new year is scheduled for January 8, 2026.
