The decision, communicated through official channels, has been well-received by consumers and sparked conversations about holiday shopping planning.

Scheduled Closures for National Holidays

D1 and Tiendas Ara have confirmed they will be closed on December 25, 2025, and January 1, 2026, coinciding with the Christmas and New Year’s Day holidays. This applies to all locations nationwide, without exception, and includes the suspension of delivery services on those days.

The move is driven by an internal policy focused on employee well-being, allowing staff to spend time with family during the traditional holidays. Both customers and social media users have praised what they describe as a supportive decision for workers, particularly during a period of high demand.

Reopening and Consumer Recommendations

Both D1 and Ara have announced they will resume normal operations on December 26, 2025, and January 2, 2026, following the holiday closures.

The chains are also advising customers to complete their shopping in advance, especially for essential or high-demand products for holiday gatherings. D1 has also cautioned that December 24th and 31st may see adjusted hours with little notice, encouraging shoppers to shop early or avoid last-minute purchases.

Ara has not issued official statements regarding changes to operating hours on Christmas Eve or New Year’s Eve, but has acknowledged the gesture of prioritizing employee rest during these dates.
