A 28-year-old man escaped injury Thursday morning after his car overturned on a road outside Wohlen, Switzerland, police said. The incident underscores the dangers of distracted driving.
The crash occurred shortly after 9:30 a.m. On Farnstrasse, according to the Aargau cantonal police. The driver, operating a VW Golf, was traveling from the Büttikerstrasse traffic circle toward Muri when he lost control.
Investigators determined the driver had been manipulating the car radio at the time of the accident. The vehicle left the roadway, broke through a line of bushes, and rolled down an embankment before coming to rest on its roof on an adjacent bike path.
The driver was able to exit the heavily damaged vehicle on his own and was examined by paramedics at the scene. Authorities confirmed he sustained no injuries. The Aargau public prosecutor’s office has been notified of the incident.
