Charlotte Men’s Golf to Compete at Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate

The Charlotte 49ers men’s golf team is set to conclude its fall season at the Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate tournament in Alpharetta, Georgia, beginning today, October 24th.

The 54-hole tournament, hosted by Georgia Tech, will be played on the Lakeside Course of The Golf Club of Georgia, a course renowned for hosting numerous prestigious events including U.S. Open Qualifiers and an NCAA East Regional Championship. Established in 1991 and designed by Arthur Hills, the Lakeside Course features challenging terrain and scenic views. Last year, Charlotte finished fourth at this event, demonstrating their potential on this course.

The field includes a strong lineup of collegiate golf programs, with five teams – Florida State, Georgia Tech, Pepperdine, UCLA, and Virginia – having competed in the 2024 NCAA National Championship. Six teams are ranked within the top 25 according to ScoreBoard powered by Clippd, and a total of 14 of the 15 participating teams are ranked in the top 100 nationally. Charlotte’s lineup includes Chase Cline, Daniel Boone Jr., Justin Matthews, Seb Cave, and Frazer Jones, with tee times beginning at 9 a.m. each day. Following the completion of stroke play on Sunday, the final round pairings will be determined by the 36-hole scores. Tournament officials anticipate a competitive weekend as teams vie for position heading into the spring season.
