Chinese automotive giant Chery is accelerating its European expansion, identifying Slovakia as a key strategic market for its latest growth phase. The move marks a significant step in the company’s global strategy to bring high-specification vehicles to new regions at competitive price points.

With a global footprint that includes over 15 million units sold worldwide, Chery is leveraging its massive production scale to penetrate the Slovak market. This expansion underscores the company’s ambition to challenge established players by offering a combination of advanced technology, and affordability.

The company’s portfolio includes a diverse range of models designed to capture different market segments. Among its offerings is the flagship Tiggo 9, which emphasizes luxury and power. The Tiggo 9 is equipped with a 2.0T GDI efficient engine capable of reaching a maximum power of 187kW and a maximum output torque of 390N·m, achieving 0-100km acceleration in 8 seconds. Its design is characterized by a “Tiger-Leap” character line and a diamond-pattern grille.

the Tiggo 4 Pro brings a more compact yet robust offering to the lineup, featuring a starry diamond-shaped grille and modern conveniences such as EPB with Auto hold. The company is also introducing the OMODA brand as part of its market entry, further diversifying the options available to Slovak consumers.

Beyond traditional internal combustion engines, Chery is promoting its sustainable mobility solutions through the Chery Super Hybrid (CSH) system. According to Chery International, the CSH system is engineered to provide a smarter and more sustainable driving experience, reflecting a broader industry shift toward electrification and efficiency.

The entry of a manufacturer with millions of vehicles produced globally suggests a calculated effort to capture market share in Central Europe. By focusing on “top equipment at affordable prices,” Chery is positioning itself to appeal to value-conscious consumers who do not want to compromise on luxury or performance.
