East Africa: Digital Green Innovation Program Opens for Startups
A new acceleration program offering mentorship, investment readiness support, and seed funding opportunities has launched for early-stage digital startups focused on sustainability and climate resilience in Kenya, Ethiopia, and Uganda.
The Digital and Green Innovation Acceleration Programme is designed for for-profit companies building technology-driven solutions to address climate and environmental challenges. Eligible startups must be registered and operational in Kenya, Ethiopia, or Uganda, have a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) or be generating early revenue, and have at least two active co-founders. Youth- or women-led startups are particularly encouraged to apply.
The program provides participants with practical business acceleration, expert mentorship, connections to investors, and opportunities for market access and international exposure. This initiative comes as East Africa faces increasing pressure from climate change, making innovative solutions crucial for long-term economic stability and environmental protection. Interested entrepreneurs can find more information about climate action in Africa through the United Nations Environment Programme.
The application deadline is November 10, 2025. Officials stated the program aims to be a “launchpad for entrepreneurs redefining the future of green innovation in Africa,” and encourage all eligible startups to apply through the program’s application portal.
