The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) has unveiled a comprehensive development strategy for Egyptian football extending to 2038, outlining clear objectives aimed at elevating the sport both continentally and internationally.
Tahya Masr reports that EFA President Hani Abu Rida explained the delay in announcing the strategy was due to awaiting the official announcement from the Confederation of African Football (CAF) regarding the new tournament system. This system was under careful review, given Abu Rida’s positions within FIFA and CAF, to ensure alignment between the national strategy and both continental and international frameworks.
The plan includes sweeping changes to domestic competitions, with a primary focus on developing and preparing national teams across all age groups, utilizing modern technical and organizational principles. This focus on youth development is crucial for sustained success in international competitions.
Hani Abu Rida emphasized that the new plan is the result of collaborative efforts involving various government agencies, including the Ministry of Youth and Sports, and other relevant stakeholders. “This represents a unified vision aimed at developing Egyptian football and achieving its continental and international ambitions,” he stated.
