Ford is enhancing its F-150 pickup truck with a series of updates focused on design and features, aiming to bolster its position in the competitive full-size truck market. The F-150, a key revenue driver for the automaker, is receiving both cosmetic and technological improvements.
The latest iteration of the F-150 features redesigned headlights incorporating daytime running lights, and Ford has extended the vehicle’s warranty from three to five years. Exterior updates also include a new front grille, redesigned rear taillights, and new 20-inch alloy wheel options.
A notable addition is the new Pro Access tailgate, offering increased versatility with the ability to open fully or just the center section. The previous top-tier Platinum trim was discontinued last year, but the Lariat model – currently priced around R$560,000 in Black or standard configurations – now includes many of the premium features previously reserved for the Platinum.
These features include a central console with an integrated armrest, power-deployable side steps, and a Bang & Olufsen premium sound system with 14 speakers. The F-150 Lariat also boasts a power-operated tailgate, a 12-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 12-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
Connectivity is also being upgraded, with wireless compatibility for both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Drivers will also benefit from a 360-degree camera monitoring system, adaptive cruise control with lane centering and stop-and-go functionality, a trailer assist system, and a panoramic sunroof.
Ford is also introducing an exclusive off-road autopilot system with One Pedal Drive. This system intelligently selects the appropriate technology and speed for navigating obstacles. The One Pedal Drive feature allows drivers to control acceleration and braking using only the accelerator pedal, designed for challenging ascents where sudden braking could lead to loss of traction. This feature is expected to appeal to drivers who frequently venture off-road.
