The next installment in the open-world racing series, Forza Horizon 6, is set to launch on May 19, 2026, for Xbox Series X|S and PC via the Microsoft Store and Steam. Players who purchase the Premium Edition will gain Early Access beginning May 15, with a PlayStation 5 release planned later in the year.

IGN First recently unveiled nine minutes of exclusive gameplay footage, showcasing a Saleen S7 navigating a portion of the Japan-based map. The video highlights the transition from rural countryside to sections of Tokyo and the base of the mountains. This marks the first time the Forza Horizon series will feature Japan’s distinctive roads, offering players a new and expansive environment to explore.

Forza Horizon 6 builds upon the acclaimed driving experience of the series with more cars available at launch than ever before. The game similarly introduces a progression system inspired by the original 2012 Forza Horizon and long-awaited improvements to customization options. The addition of a new Japanese setting signals a continued push for immersive and geographically diverse open-world racing experiences.

Developers have also provided a gameplay overview and an initial interview with the Playground team following the game’s announcement is available. You can check out the first developer gameplay overview here, plus the initial interview with the Playground team.

The game will be available on Xbox Series X|S and PC via the Microsoft Store and Steam on May 19, 2026, with Early Access for Premium Edition players starting four days earlier on May 15. It will also be released on PlayStation 5 later this year.
