Mexico City – A vehicle restriction program, known as “Hoy No Circula Sabatino,” will be in effect this Saturday, January 3, 2026, across Mexico City and 18 surrounding municipalities in the State of Mexico. Which Vehicles Are Affected?

The restrictions on Saturday, January 3, 2026, apply to the following vehicles:

Vehicles displaying a Holograma 1 sticker and with license plates ending in an even number (2, 4, 6, 8, or 0).

All vehicles with a Holograma 2 sticker.

Vehicles with out-of-state license plates – those not registered in Mexico City, the State of Mexico, Hidalgo, Morelos, Puebla, Querétaro, or Tlaxcala.

Drivers who operate a vehicle on a restricted day could face a fine ranging from 20 to 30 UMAs (Unidad de Medida y Actualización). This translates to between 2,075 and 3,113 pesos.

Vehicle owners can check whether their vehicle is permitted to circulate on a specific day in Mexico City or the State of Mexico by visiting http://hoynocircula.cdmx.gob.mx/. The website allows users to input their hologram number or the last digit of their license plate to receive information extending up to six or twelve months in advance.
