ICE Agent Wounds U.S. Marshal, TikTok Streamer During Los Angeles Operation

An Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent wounded a Deputy U.S. Marshal and a TikTok streamer during an operation in Los Angeles today, authorities confirmed.

The shooting occurred at approximately 6:40 PM Pacific Time in the area of 4th Street and Boyle Avenue, according to law enforcement officials. The operation was reportedly focused on a fugitive wanted on immigration charges. During the encounter, an ICE agent discharged a firearm, striking both the Deputy U.S. Marshal, who was providing support to the ICE team, and a bystander identified as 23-year-old Elias Rodriguez, a local TikTok streamer who was broadcasting live at the time of the incident.

Both the Deputy U.S. Marshal and Rodriguez were transported to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries. “Our preliminary investigation indicates the agent discharged their weapon during a physical altercation with the suspect,” stated a spokesperson for ICE. The suspect was taken into custody following the shooting. This incident highlights the inherent risks involved in fugitive apprehension operations, particularly in densely populated urban areas.

The FBI is now leading the investigation into the shooting, standard procedure when a federal agent is involved in an officer-involved shooting. Further details are expected to be released following a thorough review of the evidence, including body camera footage and witness statements. Authorities have stated that the investigation is ongoing and they will provide updates as they become available.
